SystmConnect - How our New Appointment Booking System Works

Submit a Medical or Admin Request via SystmConnect

Instead of the traditional "first-come, first-served" telephone queue at 8:00 AM, we are introducing a digital-first approach using SystmConnect.

    1. Submit a Request: When you need medical advice or an appointment, please visit our website, or use your Airmid or NHS app, and complete a SystmConnect form.
    1. Clinical Review: Every form is reviewed by a doctor. This allows us to prioritise those with the most urgent medical needs.
    1. The Outcome: Based on the doctor’s assessment, you will be contacted to arrange an appointment, offered a telephone consultation, offered advice, or directed to a more appropriate service (such as a local pharmacy or a specialist clinic).

Support for Non-Digital Patients

We understand that not everyone has access to a computer or smartphone. If you are unable to use the online form:

    • Our Reception team is here to help. You can still call the surgery or visit the front desk.
    • The receptionist will ask you the same questions found on the digital form and complete it on your behalf.
    • The request will then be sent to the doctor for review, just like an online submission.

Why are we making this change?

The demand for GP services is at an all-time high. This new system is designed to:

    • Reduce long wait times on the telephone.
    • Ensure fairness, as appointments are allocated based on medical need rather than who calls the fastest.
    • Improve access by freeing up our phone lines for those who truly need them.

Note: For life-threatening emergencies, please continue to dial 999 or visit your nearest A&E. For general health advice outside of surgery hours, please call 111.
